Filters

Filters give you the ability to automatically sort incoming messages into folders (or the trash), or to forward them to another email address or to your wireless device. Web Mail scans the headers of incoming messages and files, forwards, or deletes them according to simple rules you define. Designing filter rules is easy. For example, the following rule moves messages with the word "happy" in the subject to a folder named "Good Stuff":

If subject contains happy then move to folder Good Stuff

  3. You can select various criteria for sorting your mail. In the IF area, select the check boxes next to the criteria to find. Choose from keyword and/or message priority:
Note: If you specify more than one criterion for filtering mail, all the criteria must match for the message to be filtered. For example, if you create a filter that moves all mail from the sender “sara@domain.net” AND with the word “happy” in the subject to a folder named “Good Stuff,” then both the sender AND subject must match the criteria for the filter to work.
  4. Select which action to take when the keyword is found in the THEN area. Choose one or more of the following:
  5. Click the OK button to apply your changes.

Working with Filters
Filter order is important. Think of your list of filters as a series of sieves, each one catching a different type of message but letting the rest pass through to the next filter in the list. You can reorder your filters at any time. To move a filter up or down in the filter list, click the up and down arrows to the right of the filter’s name.

You can temporarily disable some or all of your filters. You can select or clear the check boxes next to the filters you want to enable or disable. You can also temporarily turn off filtering.

To temporarily disable a filter, clear the check box next to the filter.

To enable a filter, select the check box next to the filter.

To temporarily turn all filters off, click the TURN FILTERING OFF button located above the list of filters.

To turn all filters on, click the TURN FILTERING ON button located above the list of filters.
