The PREFERENCES page allows you to change
the default behavior of Web Mail. Click the PREFERENCES link in the navigation bar to open
a window that provides links to all the options you can change.
Enter your current password in the
OLD PASSWORD field.
Asterisks (***) appear in this field as you type to keep your password confidential.
Enter the same new password in both of the
NEW PASSWORD fields.
Click the OK button.
If you make a
mistake and want to start over, click the RESET button
to clear the form.
If you forget your password, contact your system administrator for help.
Forwarding mail
To forward all mail that comes to your Web Mail address to another email
address:
Click the PREFERENCES link in the navigation bar.
Click the FORWARD link.
Select the FORWARD MAIL TO check box.
In the adjacent field, enter the full email address where you want your mail forwarded.
If you want to keep copies of forwarded mail in your Web Mail Inbox, select the KEEP COPIES OF FORWARDED MESSAGES check box.
Click the OK button.
If you make a mistake and want to start over, click the RESET button
to clear the form.
Enabling vacation autoresponder
You can set up Web Mail to send an automatic reply to everyone who sends you a message.
This feature is useful when you go on vacation and want
inform people that you won’t be checking your email for a few days.
Click the PREFERENCES link in the navigation bar.
Click the VACATION link.
Select the TURN ON VACATION REPLY check box.
In the text box, type the message you want Web Mail to automatically send.
Click the OK
button.
If you make a mistake and want to start over, click the RESET button
to clear the form.
Saving outgoing messages
To set Web Mail to save a copy of all the messages you send in your Sent folder:
Click the PREFERENCES link in the navigation bar.
Click the
SETTINGS link.
Select the SAVE OUTGOING MAIL check box.
Click the OK button.
Web Mail’s default setting is to save outgoing messages.
Display Settings
Web Mail allows you to customize the way messages are displayed in several ways.
You can:
Change the width of the text box as you write a new mail message or read a mail message
Change the number of messages displayed on a folder page
Display the number of messages in each folder
Set messages to automatically display full header
information on incoming messages
To make any of these changes:
Click the PREFERENCES link in the navigation bar.
Click the
SETTINGS link.
Make changes to any of the display options.
Click the OK button to apply your changes.
To see Web Mail’s default settings, click the SHOW DEFAULTS button. To use these default
settings, click the OK button.
By default, Web Mail hides the full email headers. You can view or hide
the full headers on any single message by using the
SHOW HEADERS/HIDE HEADERS links located on the upper-right side of a message you’re reading.

To set Web Mail to permanently remove all messages in your
TRASH folder each time you log out:
